Blue Bell, Columbine, Figwort, Foxglove, Greater Stitchwort, Hairy St. John’s Wort, Hedge Bedstraw, Hemp Agrimony, Meadowsweet, Nettle-Leaved Bellflower, Red Campion, Wild Angelica, Wood Avens, Wood Sage & Wood Vetch.
GRASS SPECIES USED
Browntop Bentgrass, Chewings Fescue, Crested Dogstail, Sheeps Fescue, Slender Red Fescue, Tufted Hairgrass & Wood Meadowgrass.
SOWING DATES
Sowing can take place throughout most of the year, providing a good tilth can be prepared, however the months of March/April and August/September are generally the most suitable.
SOWING RATES
For mixtures with grass sow at a rate of 5g per sq. metre.
CUTTING HEIGHT
New meadow:
When sward reaches 15cm (6in) high, cut for the first time, removing all the cuttings.
First year:
Cut every 2 months or when the sward reaches 15cm (6in), removing all the cuttings.
Future years:
First cut in March/April to 7.5cm (3in) with a second cut to 7.5cm (3in) in August/October removing all the cuttings after each cut.
